Cape Town Culture & Commerce Experience Products, People and

About our tours: Flowers, Farms, Fashion & Food

Cape Town is more than a beautiful destination. It is a living marketplace shaped by land, labour, creativity, enterprise and changing consumer choices.

Hosted by Nomi Matlala, the Cape Town Culture & Commerce Experience invites guests to explore the city through the journey of everyday products—from the places where they are grown and made to the markets, restaurants and retailers where they are sold.

This is not a conventional sightseeing tour. It is a hosted conversation about how South Africa works.

Private experiences | 3, 4 or 7 hours | Cape Town

Flowers & Farms

3 hours

From consumer choice to cultivation

Begin at the Constantia Village flower stall, where a simple purchasing decision opens a wider conversation about South African retail.

Why does one customer choose Checkers while another chooses Woolworths? What influences price, quality, convenience and trust?

The journey continues to a working farm or horticultural producer to explore the systems behind the product.

Explore:

  • Retail and consumer choice
  • Land, labour and agricultural heritage
  • Sustainability and responsible stewardship

This experience connects what customers see on the shelf with the land, people and decisions behind it.

Best suited to:
Food and retail professionals, sustainability groups, business delegations, students and culturally curious travellers.

Fashion & Future

3 hours

Creativity, identity and enterprise

Discover Cape Town through its fashion, textiles, designers and independent retail businesses.

The route explores how heritage industries such as Woodstock’s textile sector continue to influence contemporary design and entrepreneurship.

Through selected studios, boutiques or retail destinations, guests examine the difference between building a small local brand and operating at corporate scale.

Explore:

  • African fashion and creative industries
  • Women-led enterprise and innovation
  • Local brands with global ambition

The experience considers how designers preserve cultural identity, create employment and compete within a global marketplace.
